Health Guarantee & Puppy Contract

1. Health Guarantee Coverage

2-Year Genetic Health Guarantee

We guarantee your puppy to be free from life-threatening genetic defects for 2 years from the date of birth. This includes but is not limited to:

• Congenital heart defects
• Liver shunts
• Severe hip dysplasia (documented by OFA or PennHIP)
• Degenerative myelopathy
• Hereditary cataracts
• Other life-threatening hereditary conditions

Initial Health Certification

Each puppy comes with:

• Complete veterinary health examination
• Age-appropriate vaccinations
• Deworming treatments
• Fecal examination
• Microchip registration
• Health certificate for travel (if required)

3. Buyer Responsibilities

To maintain the health guarantee, buyers must:

• Take the puppy to a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of receipt for examination
• Maintain all required vaccinations and preventative care
• Provide proper nutrition with quality food (we recommend continued feeding of the same brand)
• Provide appropriate exercise and a safe environment
• Not breed the puppy without written permission (for limited registration)
• Keep the puppy at a healthy weight as recommended by your veterinarian
• Notify us immediately of any health concerns

4. Health Guarantee Terms & Conditions

Genetic Defect Claim Process

If a life-threatening genetic defect is diagnosed within 2 years:

1. Obtain diagnosis from a licensed veterinarian
2. Provide us with complete medical records and diagnosis
3. Allow us to obtain a second opinion from a veterinarian of our choice (at our expense)
4. Upon confirmation, we will offer a replacement puppy of equal value when available

What is NOT Covered

This guarantee does not cover:

• Illnesses due to neglect, abuse, or improper care
• Injuries, accidents, or environmental factors
• Parasites (internal or external) after 72 hours
• Viral infections such as parvo, distemper, kennel cough (unless pre-existing)
• Hypoglycemia (preventable with proper feeding)
• Allergies or food sensitivities
• Cosmetic conditions (underbite, overbite, loose hips, elongated soft palate unless severe)
• Conditions arising from breeding without written authorization
• Any condition that develops after the 2-year period

Remedies

In the event of a valid claim under this guarantee, we will provide a replacement puppy of equal value when one becomes available. We do not offer monetary refunds. The original puppy may be returned or kept at the buyer's discretion, but no additional compensation will be provided.

5. Spay/Neuter Agreement

Puppies sold on limited registration must be spayed or neutered by 18 months of age unless the puppy is sold with full breeding rights. Proof of spay/neuter must be provided to the breeder. Failure to comply will void the health guarantee and may result in legal action.

6. Return Policy & Right of First Refusal

If at any time during the dog's life you are unable to keep your dog, you must notify us first. We maintain the right of first refusal and will take the dog back or help find an appropriate home. Under no circumstances should an Exotic Innovations dog be surrendered to a shelter or rescue without first contacting us.

7. Lifetime Breeder Support

We are committed to supporting you and your puppy throughout their lifetime. We are always available to:

• Answer questions about care, training, and behavior
• Provide recommendations for veterinarians and trainers
• Offer guidance on nutrition and health concerns
• Celebrate milestones and stay connected with puppy updates

8. Deposit & Payment Terms

• A non-refundable deposit of $500-$1,000 is required to reserve a puppy
• Deposits are applied to the total purchase price
• Full payment is due before or at the time of pickup
• Accepted payment methods: cash, bank transfer, certified check
• Deposits may be transferred to a future litter within 12 months
• Deposits are forfeited if the buyer does not complete the purchase

9. Pickup & Transportation

Puppies are typically ready to go home at 8-10 weeks of age. We prefer in-person pickup at our location in Jacksonville Florida. We can arrange ground transportation or flight nanny services at the buyer's expense. We do not ship puppies as cargo.

10. Legal Agreement

This health guarantee constitutes the entire agreement between Exotic Innovations and the buyer. Any modifications must be made in writing and signed by both parties. This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Florida. By purchasing a puppy from Exotic Innovations, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.
